Accessing the Practice
Urgent (non life threatening) Appointments
- Contact us by phone Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6.00pm on 01952 726011
- Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist. We are open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm
We will ask you a few details to help ascertain your need and your details will be passed to the Emergency Doctor for review.
Routine Appointments (new and existing problems)
To request a routine appointment:
- Use our Contact Us online form between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday; your request will be reviewed by a member of the team within 2 working days.
- Contact us by phone Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 6.00pm on 01952 726011
- Visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist. We are open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm. *Please note Cressage is closed between 1 and 2 pm Monday to Friday.
Evening and weekend appointments for our patients are available at other local surgeries, please contact Reception and ask for an enhanced access appointment.
When you get in touch, we will ask you what help you need.
We use the information you give us to choose the most suitable health professional to help you.
Your appointment
We may then offer you a consultation:
- By phone
- Face to face at the surgery
- On a video call
- By text or email
Appointments by phone, video call, by text or email can be more flexible. This often means the doctor or nurse can help you sooner.
If you require a more immediate response than the next available appointment offered to you on the telephone or when visiting the Practice, you will be directed to complete the Contact Us Form online to facilitate a timely review of your medical needs.
If you are unable to access this form online the Reception team can complete the form and submit it on your behalf.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
If you cannot make your appointment let us know as soon as you can so another patient can book the appointment time. Please use the check and cancel option on our telephone system or speak to a member of the Reception team.
If you need help when we are closed
Use NHS 111 online (111.nhs.uk) or call 111. Please note that 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. For a child under 5 please telephone 111.
If you need urgent mental health support please telephone 111 and select the option Mental Health.
If it’s a life-threatening emergency call 999.
If you need help with your appointment
Please tell us:
- If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
- If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
- If you need an interpreter
- If you have any other access or communication needs.
- If you would like a chaperone to be present
Home Visits
Home visits are reserved for the housebound, infirm and seriously ill patients.
If you require a home visit please telephone between 8.30am and 10.30am where possible. If you are suffering from chest pain, severe breathlessness, collapse or symptoms of a stroke we advise you dial 999 for an ambulance. Please remember that several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time that it takes to do a home visit. Lack of transport is not a reason for a home visit.
